Administrative Message #706 - Site update

May 26, 2018

Thank you for all that have written to me about my mother. She has a rapidly progressing form of dementia, which was diagnosed almost 4 months ago.

A couple weeks ago, at the assisted living facility, she tripped and fell while walking in the hall one morning. She likes walking around a lot. She was taken to the hospital where the scans didn't show any breaks. I'm not sure if something was missed or if she had a hairline fracture that got worse with use, but she actually broke her hip. This required surgery.

Please bare with me with the site activities for the next couple months. She is being admitted to a rehab facility and might need to be moved out of assisted living until her rehab is complete. This, along with my having to care for the entire house (in and out) is limiting my time online.

In addition, PayPal has thrown another curve ball. Unless I use the direct pay option on my sites (so one payment at a time instead of combining multiple requests), PayPal is now charging me a fee to send money. I've found a workaround for this, but it is much more detail oriented than I have time for most days. I plan to slowly peck away at the request list.

For combined payments in certain countries, such as the US and Canada, the fee has been either $0.00 or $0.01. A couple countries in Europe have been at $0.04-$0.05. I just tried to make a $5 combined payment for a member of two of my sites and PayPal wanted to charge me $2.99 to send the payment. The member would also have to still pay the standard payment receiving fee on their end.

I am also limiting the number of payment requests I process at a time due to PayPal limiting several more Get-Paid-To site's accounts in recent months.

I'm still considering adding Amazon as a payment option, however I am actively looking for other options.

I am completely caught up on Serve requests as of the morning of May 26th. Serve is backed by American Express and is FREE to send and receive money. If you live in the United States, please consider using Serve for payments. I'll be able to pay you much faster than PayPal and you won't incur the same fees as PayPal. I've also added Serve to the two sites that did not have it as an option previously, InfoFriendPTR and SummerSlamGiveaway.
